SMBA: Sewing Machine Basics - Adult and Teens Ages 14 and Up
A sewing machine can be a tool that brings you great joy, provided you know how to use it correctly. This hands-on class will give you the opportunity to get more familiar with how to use a sewing machine. We will discuss the additional ingredients like thread and machine needles. We will wind a bobbin, thread the machine, and practice good sewing techniques. This class will cover instruction on both drop-in and front-loading bobbins. This is a great class to take prior to signing up for our other project-based classes, it will give you confidence and you will leave this class feeling like you are the boss of the machine! All supplies will be included. Classroom machines provided. Sat, 1/3, 10 AM - 12N, Wed, 1/21, 6 - 8 PM, Sat, 2/7, 10 AM - 12N, Tues, 2/17, 1 - 3 PM. Additional sessions for March and onward will be added soon!

If your child is interested in learning to sew, step #1 is learning all about the sewing machine! We will explore the parts of the machine, proper and safe usage, winding bobbins, threading the machine, and basic sewing operations. Our experience is that students that begin with an in-depth lesson on the sewing machine are more successful in our project-based classes - frustrations are eliminated as they have better control over the sewing machine. All supplies will be included. Classroom machines provided. Sat, 1/10, 10 AM - 12N or Wed, 2/18, 1 - 3 PM. Additional sessions for March and onward will be added soon!

EOE26: Embroider On Everything!
Introducing Embroidery on Everything, a monthly course for all BERNINA machines, focused on BERNINA embroidery accessories and popular embroidery techniques. Each lesson will include a video and a handout for you to use as you learn and hone your embroidery skills. A new lesson is released the 15th of each month on the BERNINA Skill Hub. In addition, we will host 4 in-person meetings throughout the year to review the video content, demo techniques in-person, and have some show and tell. Once you have accomplished these skills on a small scale, you will have the confidence to tackle a full-sized quilt! In addition to access to the instructor, you will also find inspiration from your fellow students! Use our sewing machines, overlocks, and pressing equipment. Bring your project with instructions, basic sewing supplies, and join the fun! Studio sessions run full, if you are interested be sure to put your name on the waitlist and we will do our best to get you into a session.
